Lots happening in NC’s PreK program, More at Four
April 11, 2009
Unbelievably, when NC Senators face tough financial decisions, they throw our most vulnerable children under the bus. How is this possible? Just this week NC’s More at Four PreK program reaped praise in the national review of PreK by NIEER.
North Carolina’s More at Four was one of two states that met all 10 of the criteria for high quality PreK! But two days later the NC Senate has passed a bill – with no opportunity for discussion – that will make major changes to the program and threatens its successes.
Go to our Page on Save More at Four info here for how you can reach your legislators and the Governor.
There is also an active, national PreK group, called PrekNow, that is acting on our behalf and running a campaign across the country to send petitions to our Governor. Here is the link to that:

We have time to fix this if we all act and tell our lawmakers how important More at Four is to children and families! I am willing to help you figure out how to do this if you need help – just email me, call me or post a comment here.
Keep coming back to this blog to keep up with what we know!
